Apple's Most Un-Apple Move Ever

Apple just added MCP server support in iOS - this is huge! ๐ŸŽ It could mean bypassing Siri completely and controlling your iPhone through AI models like Claude. Turn brightness down, control volume, do actual things with AI instead of just talking to Siri. This is such an un-Apple move - breaking their famous walled garden. this changes everything for AI on Apple devices. โ€” TIMESTAMPS: 0:00 - Apple's Walled Garden Cracks ๐ŸŽ 1:17 - Bypassing Siri Completely ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ 1:41 - Control iPhone from Claude? ๐Ÿค– 2:23 - Why This Changes Everything ๐Ÿ”ฅ 3:14 - What is "CMD + AI"? โ€” LINKS & RESOURCES: ๐Ÿ“ท Follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cmdaishow/ โ€” #apple #ios #mcp #ai #siri #technews #appleintelligence #cmdai

Apple have added MCP support in the latest version of iOS. So, we haven't got this yet. It's beta one has been released 26.1 MCP access, which is kind of crazy. And I wonder is this a what can you do with it? Uh, well, let's just quickly read it. Mark, strategic move towards enabling aic AI capabilities across its device ecosystem. So, you could probably control your iPhone through an MCP server. Okay. or or Tahoe or whatever. Uh maybe it's a maybe it's like an interoperability between your Apple devices or something like this. I don't know. But it's been it's been released uh yesterday or day before. Um I haven't seen any videos go up about it or or what people have been doing with it. But I I just think that oh well focus on Apple's intense framework which can allow Siri and the shortcuts app to interact with third party applications. So yeah, not too sure about that, but I'm all for it. That's what I want to ask. What what it will mean for Siri? I don't think it will. I don't know. I don't know how this would maybe it's um Yeah, I don't know because Siri is So why would you MCP server is there to take requests language? So exactly. So that you don't need Siri that So it bypasses Siri. Yeah. Yeah. But it still needs a model. It still needs a model to interpret the the request, right? And then yeah, send it through. So, God knows. God knows. But I'm just interested because this is an unlike Apple move. They're all about the wall garden. And this is something that potentially could mean that you could interact with, you know, maybe it's through maybe is if it's in Tahoe that it's like you can tell your computer to do things from Claude, you know, oh um turn the brightness down and it's a bit stupid or turn the volume down, do this or do that sort of stuff. So yeah, I don't know. It it could just it's just an interesting move from Apple and that's what I'm um that's why I thought I'd raise it. It's pretty cool. Maybe they're also trying to see what what works. Uh I haven't used any MCP. Well, you should use the notion one. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I I want actually to use the web flow one. Yeah. to do a bunch of like why haven't I don't know why I haven't but well because honestly because I'm busy building other things. I'm I'm enjoying I've been enjoying building flowing like uh in the past two weeks we've made so many updates and I noticed there are so much work to do when it comes to building a product um and I'm like genuinely enjoying that. So I do work inside I like yesterday I built a um animation using the new gap plugin that you know things things like this small one and then the other day I was working on the 3D and the other day on social. So a bunch of things like that. This is part of a larger conversation on my show command AI which we stream live every single week. We discuss the news and all things related to AI in the world of design and web.
