Vibe coding an unfortunate term for a deep intellectual exercise. I was looking into this who this guy is. He basically heads uh Google brain that's the one Google brain and he's talking about like vibe coding and then he goes into saying about AI assisted coding. And this is something I'm trying to you know educate my audience around this difference between vibe coding and AI assisted coding. And I do think uh vibe coding is it's not a deep intellectual exercise. That's not the point of vibe coding. I think he's got his semantics a bit confused here in that vibe coding by its very nature is as Andre Kapasi said, you forget that the code even exists, you know. Yeah. Saying all that and I want to make a video on this is about um creating product requirements PR in order to create prompts basically for the for the AI to to to work better. That could be described as a deeply intellectual exercise but not to the point of understanding the system which is what AI I believe AI assisted coding is. I believe AI assisted coding is you're using AI to uh reason about code and get in the name assist you with what you want to do whereas vibe coding is not thinking about the code writing you know for lack of a better word a dumb prompt and getting what you want out of it and it's very fun can be very rewarding I know people who produce great products through vibe coding so I think he's missed the mark on this to be honest I know what he's trying to say he doesn't want to undermine that coding with AI is always this vibe way of doing things. But truthfully, leave vibe coding where it is. Let that gain its own reputation. But respect that there is this form of coding that requires a lot of deep intellectual thought and knowledge on how systems work and we can use AI to help us do that. So that's my rant.
