If AI can give you the answer instantly, why learn anything? Sam and Kabarza make the case for getting nerdy about the things you love. Discoveries happen on the way to the answer, the loud minority online shouldn't put you off building, and the people who go deep will always beat those looking for a silver bullet.

You're never going to be as good as me because I'm the one who is getting nerdy and wants to go deep and understand things and be better. Command AI It's a love-hate with AI relationship. On one side, you could say, "Well, why do I need to learn anything? I just give it to AI and it decides." But at the same time, I'm learning alongside with AI and I'm genuinely having fun by absorbing this information. And I feel like if AI does it automatically good, like correctly, good. That that's good. But if it doesn't, now I know I can judge it and I can direct it and I can be articulate about what I'm trying to do, what I'm trying to achieve. So There's two things come to mind with what you've just said, Rafe. And it was from a podcast with Neil deGrasse Tyson, yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So he said, you know, or it was on his podcast anyway. It was actually his colleague said like you throw something to an AI and then you get the answer back. And that's great. But so many scientific discoveries were made in the journey to to get to that answer, you know? Just like you did to get to the right toggle, you learn a load of other stuff. So there is that. And then the second thing I'll say is, you know, I I'm cooking is a weird one, but I'm just trying to abstract it away. Like I just want to eat, right? I don't care about cooking. I just want to get to the end result. That shouldn't stop people wanting to learn and fall in love with the craft of cooking. It shouldn't convince you that just because there are people out there who just want to eat and they don't care how it happens. Similarly, as developers, as designers, like yeah, of course you can throw something to an AI and get the results back. But that doesn't like don't make me feel bad for being a nerd about it and not wanting to just throw something to an AI. Like, yeah, you you can throw something to an AI, but then the artisans, the geniuses that come out on top, they're the ones who are going to get nerdy and understand things from a like a core level. I I can't emphasize enough how the loud minority and the internet in general really poisons our perspective and almost gaslights us into thinking that we shouldn't do certain things just because we can. Long story short, go nerdy on the things that you love. And just because there's you can get the result really quickly, don't stop digging. Like, get dorky about it. Learn about things. And there will always be the people who use AI as a leverage always going to be better than those who just straight up use AI and get the result back. Like I I'm not paying attention to the haters or whatever. I kind of like giggle [clears throat] when I see something like that. Sometimes I try to educate them. I think the source of all that all of that is from lack of education because I think with proper education we are curious beings. And people were like, "I'm just going to send your video to my Codex and say, create this for me." Because those people who are in the comments saying they're just going to copy it shouldn't gaslight you into thinking that you shouldn't create it in the first place. Do you know what I mean? Like Yeah. Cool. Go nuts. But you're never going to be as good as me because I'm the one who is getting nerdy and wants to go deep and understand things and be better. You just want a silver bullet solution to your problems and you're never going to you're never going to be good at what you do. You're going to be average at best. So, screw the haters. Go nuts. Create whatever your heart desires. This is part of a larger conversation on my show Command AI which we stream live every single week. We discuss the news and all things related to AI in the world of design and web. Catch us next week and join in the banter. Command AI
